Ms Catherine Chammartin, Attorney-at-Law, has a degree in business administration and law. She worked as a research assistant to the Department Chair for Private and Commercial Law at the University of Zurich, as a Legal Adviser in the Financial Markets and Services Section of the Federal Finance Administration (FFA), as a Legal Adviser in the Tax Division of the State Secretariat for International Financial Matters (SIF), as Head of the Exchange of Information and Individual Taxation Section at the State Secretariat for International Financial Matters (SIF) and, in 2015, she became Director General of the Swiss Federal Institute of Intellectual Property.

At the international level, she is a member of the Administrative Council and the Board of the Administrative Council of the European Patent Organisation (EPO) in Munich.
